Shane Toohey – Acupuncture in Podiatry
Shane is a clinician and an educator. Acupuncture in Podiatry is about producing exceptional clinical outcomes and producing the clinicians to achieve that.
Shane is the Australian AHPRA (Government registered) Podiatrist and AHPRA registered Acupuncturist. For 25 years, Shane has combined these professions in the treatment of lower limb conditions often in the sports arena and the same approach often produces exceptional results for chronic pain
Shane practices Western Medical Acupuncture. This is far more extensive than “Dry Needling” and it is what he teaches in his workshops which includes also his 25 years of dry needling experience.
Acupuncture in Podiatry provides practical training in the use of acupuncture techniques including dry needling for podiatrists in the treatment for conditions that are regularly presented. These treatments can stand alone or be combined with other modalities for powerful results. Laser acupuncture and therapy has now been included in the clinical practice and teaching aspects of this business. The practical workshops are now available in Australia, Ireland and UK.
Shane has taught practical skills at final tertiary year level for over 20 years to Podiatry students. 15 years at Curtin University and now 6 years at UWA.
Shane has also provided international post graduate private training for 15 years.
